Our services

  • Consultation

Choosing a natural burial, or interment or scattering of ashes, is a deeply personal decision, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Our consultation process is simple:

    Initial contact
Start by filling out our contact form. Let us know a little about your enquiry - whether for yourself, a loved one, or future planning. Alternatively, if you would rather, just phone us to talk things through.

    Personal consultation
Once we receive your form, we’ll send you key information about available options, and what to expect. We’ll arrange a meeting - either an initial phone call or in person on site so we can show you around, discuss your wishes and guide you on how our site might work for your situation.

    Next steps
We’ll follow up with any further details you need and support you in making the arrangements that feel right for you, your family and friends.

  • Burial

At Primrose Wood, each burial is carried out with respect for the person and the land. The burial allows families and friends time to say goodbye in whatever form feels right - whether through quiet reflection, shared words, or a simple gathering in nature.

Coffins, shrouds or urns for ashes must be made from natural, biodegradable materials such as untreated wood, willow, or natural fibres. These allow the body to return gently to the earth, nourishing the roots of the growing woodland and continuing the natural cycle of life.

Once the burial is complete, the ground will be restored, and a tree and/or native wildflowers will be established. Over time, Primrose Wood will develop, the wildflowers will spread, wildlife will colonise and your loved one will become part of a wild woodland community.

Instead of stone memorials, we provide simple wooden markers, together with trees and/or wildflowers to honour and remember each life.

  • Celebration of life

    CEREMONY OR MEMORIAL

You may wish to host a graveside ceremony yourselves with poems, readings and songs, but this can be emotionally challenging. There are some lovely experienced celebrants who can help you create a deeply personal graveside tribute, or end-of-life celebration in a nearby venue that meaningfully reflects your loved one's life and how they were loved.

Just a two-minute drive away from Primrose Wood, our magnificent 16th century Tudor Barn provides a flexible, welcoming space for families and friends to gather for a funeral ceremony or celebration on our beautiful, environmentally-friendly working farm.

The Tudor Barn can be cosy for a small gathering or arranged to comfortably seat 150+ guests. We have hosted end-of-life celebrations as informal tea parties, canapés and fizz, finger-buffet style lunches and sit down meals. You choose.

The Tudor Barn and Old Brooder can provide overnight accommodation for guests coming a long way.
